Abstract(s)

Syphilis is a secular and stigmatized disease, as it is a sexually transmitted disease with a past full of stereotypes. Starting from a critical perspective on syphilis in pregnant women (SG), it is highlighted that, historically, it is possible to observe a domain of power by men in the social, political, professional and sexual spheres, resulting in different forms of oppression over women. the women. Given the relevance of the topic to the current scenario, this work aims to understand the interrelation between SG and sociodemographic profile in Brazil from 2010 to 2020. For this, a literature review and descriptive analysis of the database of SG do Brasil, correlating this information with the sociodemographic profile of pregnant women. There was an increase in the number of syphilis cases in pregnant women and congenital syphilis. The literature shows that many women are afraid to reveal the diagnosis to their partner, because they feel guilty, or for fear of losing their partner or being accused of cheating. It appears that the lack of knowledge about the condition is responsible for interfering with the behavior of the pregnant woman and her partner during the diagnosis. This dissertation will contribute to qualify the services in the actions of fighting syphilis and for the development of educational and advertising campaigns aimed at fighting syphilis. Authors such as: Abuali & Domachowske (2019); dos Santos (2017); Silva (2016) and Vidal & Mascarenhas (2020), were used with the purpose of providing a greater basis for the work.
