This study set out to investigate the role of the School Library as a space for support and inclusion for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Drawing on an approach centred on the cognitive and sensory particularities of this population, the research seeks to understand how Portuguese school libraries can develop appropriate services, resources, and environments that provide meaningful support for the emotional well-being and social integration of these students within the educational context. To this end, a purpose-built toolkit — termed Bibliospectrum — was developed. In the thematic framework section, topics related to the characteristics of children and young people with ASD are addressed, as well as their integration into the Portuguese education system and, more specifically, the ways in which a library can respond to this audience in terms of space, communication, resources, and learning support, among other aspects. The practical part focuses on the development of a proposal for a toolkit — called Bibliospectrum — designed to support the work of the school library with students with ASD.
