| dc.description.abstract | Desde as primeiras comunidades agrícolas até às modernas associações culturais, os cantos de trabalho foram evoluindo, de acordo com as mudanças sociais e económicas operadas ao longo dos tempos. Pese embora a sua origem popular e a sua transmissão ter sido realizada, na sua maioria, por indivíduos com menor acesso à educação formal, como o eram os trabalhadores agrícolas, estas criações encontram-se imbuídas de saberes, moralidade e simbologias. Testemunhos da resiliência e criatividade dos seus criadores, os cantos populares, hoje registados em suporte físico, formam uma ponte entre o passado e o presente, oferecendo uma moldura das tradições e da vida quotidiana das gerações precedentes. Este estudo pretende analisar um conjunto de cantos de trabalho, recolhidos por Michel Giacometti, no período compreendido entre 1962 e 1974, identificando-se as suas características distintivas e a sua relevância, quer no passado, quer no contexto contemporâneo. Para o efeito, investigam-se os seus aspetos formais, as temáticas dominantes e o seu papel na performatividade laboral, na coesão social e identitária das comunidades e na transmissão de conhecimentos e valores, culminando na análise destes, enquanto forma de expressão artística e cultural, aquando da diminuição da sua relevância no contexto laboral, assim como dos esforços empreendidos na preservação desta forma ancestral de literatura oral. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | From the earliest agricultural communities to modern cultural associations, work songs have evolved in accordance with the social and economic changes that have taken place over time. Despite their popular origins and the fact that their transmission was, for the most part, carried out by individuals with limited access to formal education, such as agricultural workers, these creations are imbued with knowledge, morality, and symbolism. As testimonies of the resilience and creativity of their creators, popular songs, now recorded in physical forms, constitute a bridge between the past and the present, offering a frame to the traditions and everyday life of previous generations. This study seeks to analyse a set of work songs collected by Michel Giacometti between 1962 and 1974, identifying their distinctive features and their relevance, both in the past and in the contemporary context. To this end, the analysis focuses on their formal aspects, dominant themes, and their role in labor performativity, in the social and identity cohesion of communities, and in the transmission of knowledge and values, culminating in an examination of these songs, as a form of artistic and cultural expression, particularly in light of the decline of their relevance in the labour context, as well as of the efforts undertaken to preserve this ancestral form of oral literature. | eng |
