| dc.description.abstract | Este estudo visou investigar a saúde mental e bem-estar de imigrantes acadêmicas latinas que se mudaram para a Alemanha devido a uma relação de conjugalidade com uma pessoa de nacionalidade alemã que aí reside. São centrais as questões relacionadas à vida profissional dessas mulheres, sua construção de identidade – com destaque para a identidade bicultural e a profissional – assim como a importância da maternidade nesse contexto. A literatura é rica em estudos que têm como foco os imigrantes mais vulneráveis, ou seja, refugiados e imigrantes indocumentados. O presente estudo, entretanto, focaliza mulheres latinas com formação acadêmica, as barreiras que elas encontram para inserir-se no novo mercado laboral, o papel da maternidade e o impacto da (in)satisfação vivenciadas no campo laboral sobre seu bem-estar e sua saúde mental. Ao todo, 215 mulheres responderam o inquérito online e a informação foi analisada estatisticamente. Dez dessas mulheres foram entrevistadas e a informação obtida foi analisada usando o método análise de conteúdo. Posteriormente usou-se a o método de triangulação para aprofundar a análise combinando os resultados quantitativos com os qualitativos. Os resultados apontam uma correlação entre a importância da vida laboral para a identidade e a saúde mental das imigrantes. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to investigate the mental health and well-being of Latina academic immigrants who have moved to Germany due to a conjugal relationship with a German national living there. Issues related to the professional lives of these women, their identity construction - with emphasis on bicultural and professional identity - as well as the importance of motherhood in this context are central. The literature is rich in studies that focus on the most vulnerable immigrants, i.e. refugees and undocumented immigrants. This study, however, focuses on high educated Latina women, the barriers they face in entering the new labour market, the role of motherhood and the impact of the (in)satisfaction they experience in the labour field on their well-being and mental health. In all, 215 women completed the online survey, and the information was analysed statistically. Ten of these women were interviewed and the information obtained was analysed using the content analysis method. The triangulation method was then used to deepen the analysis by combining the quantitative and qualitative results. The results point to a correlation between the importance of working life for the identity and mental health of immigrant women. | pt_PT |
