O capital intelectual tornou-se um importante ativo intangível nas organizações. Por isso,
neste trabalho tem-se como objetivo analisar como melhorar o desempenho económico das
empresas de retalho brasileiras com base no capital intelectual. Para isso será realizada uma
revisão incluindo, as suas definições, as suas classificações e os seus indicadores, de modo
a elaborar uma pesquisa que será aplicada nas empresas de retalho brasileiras de capital
aberto, investigando a relação de cada dimensão do capital intelectual, a sua relevância para
as empresas e correspondência com o seu desempenho económico, com o intuito de perceber
qual a dimensão mais significativa no desempenho e as ações que permitem melhorar a
cotação de uma empresa de retalho brasileira através do capital intelectual.
As empresas que desconhecem o seu capital intelectual estarão em desvantagem em
relação às suas concorrentes, por isso é importante identificá-lo para que seja possível fazer
uma gestão consciente.
Intellectual capital has become a new intangible asset in organizations. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to analyze how to improve the value of Brazilian retail companies based on intellectual capital. In order to do this, a conceptual review will be carried out, its definitions, classifications and indicators, allowing the creation of a research that will be applied in Brazilian publicly listed retail companies, investigating the relationship of each dimension of intellectual capital, its relevance to the companies and correspondence with its market value, in order to understand what is the most significant dimension in the composition of the value and the actions that can improve the quotation of a Brazilian retail company through intellectual capital. Companies that are unaware of their intellectual capital will be at a disadvantage compared to their competitors, so it is important to identify it so that it can be consciously managed.
