| dc.description.abstract | Publica-se o resultado das escavações arqueológicas, que se mantinham totalmente inéditas, realizadas no povoado pré-histórico do Zambujal (Sesimbra) por Gustavo Marques em Setembro de 1985, arqueólogo que foi também o responsável pela localização da estação arqueológica, em Julho de 1970. Esta, implantada no topo de um outeiro alongado, encontrava-se já muito destruída pela lavra de diversas pedreiras de calcário. Não obstante, foi possível proceder à abertura de escavação limitada, num istmo definido por diversas frentes de pedreira, umas então ainda em laboração, outras já abandonadas. Os resultados afiguram-se importantes, por terem evidenciado, em estratigrafia, a existência de duas ocupações, caracterizadas pela tipologia das produções cerâmicas, uma reportável ao Neolítico Final, outra ao Calcolítico Pleno da Estremadura. A realidade assim caracterizada foi comparada com a identificada em outras estações da região de carácter habitacional pertencentes às mesmas épocas, tendo em vista a sua integração em modelo de dinâmica social de carácter diacrónico, susceptível de explicar a ocupação de determinados sítios em detrimento de outros, no intervalo de tempo entre o final do IV milénio a.C. e o final do milénio seguinte. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The results of the unpublished archaeological excavations of Gustavo Marques on September 1985 in the prehistoric settlement of Zambujal (Sesimbra) are published in this study. He was the archeologist responsible for finding the settlement in June 1970. The settlement is located on the top of a long hill and was almost completely destroyed by quarrying activities. However, it was possible to conduct a small excavation, in a corner limited by different exploration fronts, some of them still active during the field works. The results are important because the stratigraphic evidence showed two levels of occupation based on ceramic typological evidence, one from Late Neolithic and the other from Middle Chalcolithic. They were compared with others from differentsettlements in the region of the same age, and integrated in the social dynamic model of diachronic character normally used to explain the strategy of occupation of certain sites in detriment of others, for the period between late 4th millennium and late 3rd millennium BC. | pt_PT |
