Abstract(s)
sistemática no ambiente escolar, visando alcançar a excelência educacional.
The present research study, conducted within the context of a master's dissertation, aims to identify the characteristics of learning organizations in a cluster of public schools, as well as to analyze how this institution promotes and manages its learning processes. Additionally, it seeks to contribute to a better understanding and clarification of the concept of schools as learning communities. To achieve the proposed objectives, an exploratory case study was carried out, employing a qualitative approach. Various data were collected through interviews, focus groups, and document analysis of reference materials from the school cluster. This study was divided into two phases: the first involved the theoretical framework of the topic, justifying the study and contributing to the definition of the concept of a learning school. It also addressed the topics of organizational climate and culture, communication, and the role of leadership within this context. The second phase included the empirical analysis of the collected data, aiming to produce conclusions. The results obtained suggest that the investigated school cluster possesses characteristics that can be considered those of a learning organization. However, they also highlight the need to develop a stronger and more systematic culture of learning within the school environment, with the ultimate goal of achieving educational excellence. This research contributes to the understanding of the challenges and potentialities of schools as learning organizations, providing guidance for managers and educators to strengthen organizational learning and, consequently, deliver a high-quality education to students.
