| dc.description.abstract | O presente artigo apresenta, de forma resumida, uma investigação de doutoramento (Santos, 2012) realizada na Universidade Aberta de Lisboa. O trabalho objetivou conhecer e compreender os processos de desenvolvimento de algumas dinâmicas familiares, escolares e socioculturais de crianças sobredotadas residentes em Portugal (nos distritos de Setúbal e Lisboa) e que frequentam instituições escolares (do ensino público ou particular) do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. Considerou-se de efetiva importância entender de que forma as famílias e as escolas gerem as problemáticas inerentes às crianças sobredotadas e qual o nível de aceitação destas crianças nas famílias, por parte dos colegas e professores nas escolas, mas também no meio sociocultural em que vivem e se encontram inseridas. Entendeu-se também pertinente indagar se as instituições escolares estão preparadas para operacionalizar a efectiva inclusão das crianças sobredotadas, proporcionando-lhes a oportunidade de um ensino adequado, que responda de forma positiva às suas necessidades específicas e individuais, valorizando e potenciando as suas capacidades e respeitando a sua singularidade. Este artigo aborda especificamente a importância da educação intercultural e a perspetiva intercultural na área da sobredotação. Para realizar este estudo utilizou-se a metodologia de investigação qualitativa. Optou-se por um estudo de tipo descritivo, na categoria de estudos de caso. Inferiu-se que os pais e os educadores/professores revelam dificuldades significativas na compreensão da problemática da sobredotação, o que dificulta notoriamente a organização de intervenções ajustadas aos problemas que poderão surgir com estas crianças e jovens, resultando em limitações e fragilidades na criação das condições necessárias à adequada promoção do desenvolvimento emocional e psíquico das mesmas e à plena maximização de todo o seu potencial e criatividade. Assim, se as famílias e as escolas/professores compreenderem a problemática da sobredotação e beneficiarem de estruturas de apoio adequadas e um efetivo acompanhamento na intervenção junto destas crianças, existirão menos dificuldades na gestão dos problemas observados ao nível familiar e escolar, o que irá contribuir claramente para uma visão positiva da sobredotação e uma melhor aceitação, compreensão e inclusão destas crianças nas famílias, nas escolas e na sociedade. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This paper presents, briefly, a research work – PhD (Santos, 2012) presented to Open University of Lisbon. The study aimed to better know and understand the development of family dynamics, as well as school and sociocultural dynamics of gifted children residing in Portugal (districts of Setúbal and Lisbon) and who attend schools (public school or private) of 1st Cycle of Basic Education. We considered important to understand how families and schools manage the problematic inherent in gifted children and what is the level of acceptance of these children in families, by colleagues and teachers in schools, and by the socio-cultural environment in which they live. It was considered appropriate to ask whether schools are prepared to operationalize the effective inclusion of gifted children, providing them the opportunity of a proper education, to respond positively to their specific and individual needs, enhancing and strengthening their capacities and respecting their uniqueness. The present article addresses the importance of intercultural education and intercultural perspective on giftedness. To carry out this study we used the qualitative research method. We opted for a descriptive study, in the category of case studies. It is inferred that parents and educators / teachers show significant difficulties in understanding the problem of giftedness, which notoriously difficult interventions adjusted to the problems that may arise with these children and young people, resulting in limitations and weaknesses in creating the conditions required to properly promote their emotional and psychological development and full maximizing their potential and creativity. If families and schools / teachers understand the problem of giftedness and benefit from appropriate support structures and effective monitoring in intervention in these cases, there will be fewer difficulties in the management of problems observed to family and school level, which will contribute clearly for a positive view of giftedness and greater acceptance, understanding and inclusion of these children in families, schools and society. | pt_PT |
