Abstract(s)
reduzidos, reutilizados, reciclados e devidamente encaminhados e valorizados?
volta do Lixo”, antecedido e seguido de conversa reflexiva com os alunos;
This work consists of a report by an action research carried out in the context of the Environmental Education Program (PEA), in the academic year 2015-2016, at the Basic School No. 2 (EB2) of the Sines School Grouping. The work was delineated by the perception of the problematic - urban waste - which made us question: what we can do to ensure that waste is increasingly prevented, reduced, reused, recycled and properly routed and valued? However, it was also questioned whether the actions of Environmental Education developed will, in fact, be an effective tool to promote Environmental Citizenship? Of the various themes and activities that make up the PEA, and of what is important to this work, we highlight the direct accompaniment and involvement of the researcher (educator) in the process of equipping schools' common spaces with ecopoints, classes with eco-bags; Promotion and follow-up of the viewing of the movie "Journey Around the Garbage", preceded by a reflexive conversation with the students; Follow-up of guided visits to the AMBILITAL Screening and Landfill Center; Dynamization of the paper recycling workshop; Workshop on the reuse of materials; Follow up of the reflection and elaboration of the works on canine excrement, and assembly of an exhibition with posters at the end of the school year. Evaluation methods employed the use of surveys, observation grids, field notes, photographic records, work done and analysis of the expressions and reactions observed. From the results obtained, observed and verified directly, it is considered fostered individual and collective reflection and mutual aid, contributing to the awareness, solidarity and environmental citizenship that allow us to "design" a cleaner city, and a more equitable and sustainable future.
