Our analysis is based upon some theoretical key concepts as proposed by Coutinho and Miranda (2009) – parameters of genre, mechanisms of textual realization, and genre markers –, in order to provide a clearcut description that takes into account the abstract status of genres, and the empirical status of texts. Other relevant theoretical contributions are brought by Bronckart (1996), Adam (1999, 2001), Adam and Heidmann (2007) and Charaudeau (2001).
