In this context, the open education movement has been essential in creating new pedagogical opportunities, particularly the Open Educational Resources and the Open Access movements, as they are closely related to the academic functions that are intrinsically part of scholarly activities: the pedagogical function, regarding teaching activities and the scientific function, regarding research activities.
