Contudo, devido à sua baixa representatividade numérica no contexto e(i) migratório, a experiência dessas mulheres tem sido relegada pela historiografia, em prol das análises que enfocam prioritariamente os e(i)migrantes do gênero masculino. Na tentativa de contribuir para o desvendamento dessas experiências, este artigo tem como objetivo problematizar, a partir de documentos consulares e fontes bibliográficas, relatos produzidos sobre mulheres e(i)migrantes.Abstract : Many Portuguese emigrants/immigrants moved illegally to Brazil during the second half of the 19th century. However, due to the low number of emigrant/immigrant women in this context, their experience has been dismissed by historiography, in favor of analyses focused primarily on male emigrants/immigrants.
