Foram aplicados inquéritos a docentes, alunos de anos terminais e dirigentes educativos sobre o papel do ensino das Humanidades e de um determinado corpus literário na construção da identidade cultural. A investigação demonstrou que os principenses validam positivamente um corpus literário orientado para temáticas relacionadas com o passado anterior à independência e desejam aprofundar conteúdos com maior relevância para a cultura regional contemporânea, reconhecendo que a literatura desempenha um papel determinante na criação da identidade cultural.This study presents a reflection on the main cultural manifestations on the island of Príncipe and their significance in the construction of Príncipe’s identity process. Surveys were carried out with teachers, final year students, and educational leaders on the role of Humanities teaching and a particular literary corpus in the construction of cultural identity.
