Com o avanço da tecnologia e o desenvolvimento de novos sistemas de gerenciamento
de bibliotecas, o Sistema de Bibliotecas da Universidade Federal de Sergipe (SIBIUFS)
passou pela automação dos seus serviços e pela aquisição de alguns sistemas de gestão
da informação, até adquirir o Sistema Pergamum. Os sistemas de automação de
bibliotecas evoluíram para atender as novas demandas e exigências dos pesquisadores,
nesse sentido, surgiu o interesse de analisar o impacto que a automação dos serviços tem
causado ao usuário interno do SIBIUFS. A coleta de dados se deu através da aplicação
de questionários que foram elaborados com perguntas que fossem capazes de colher
informações sobre o nível de satisfação dos bibliotecários e auxiliares em relação ao
Sistema Pergamum. Tem como objetivo fazer uma análise sobre a automação de
bibliotecas universitárias e o impacto que a tecnologia causa na vida dos agentes
responsáveis pela organização e gestão da informação. Elaborou-se uma retrospectiva
histórica sobre a formação da Fundação Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS) e do seu
Sistema de Bibliotecas. O estudo analisou o nível de satisfação dos auxiliares de
bibliotecas e dos bibliotecários com relação ao uso, ao desempenho e a necessidade de
treinamento na utilização do Sistema Pergamum.
With the advances in technology and the development of new systems of management of
libraries, the System of Libraries of the Federal University of Sergipe (SIBIUFS) passed
by the automation of its services and by the acquisition of some systems of management
of the information, up to acquiring the System Pergamum. The systems of automation of
libraries evolved to attend the new demands, namely the demands of the investigators. In
this sense, we intend to analyse the impact that the automation of the services has been
causing to an internal user of the SIBIUFS. The data collection happened through the
application of questionnaires with the objective to gather informations on the level of
satisfaction of the librarians and assistants regarding the System Pergamum. Our aim was
to analyse on the automation of university libraries and the impact that the technology
causes in the life of the agents responsible for the organization and management of the
information. A historical retrospect was prepared on the formation of the Foundation
Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) and of his System of Libraries. The study analysed
the level of satisfaction of the assistants of libraries and of the librarians regarding the
use, the performance and the necessity of training in the use of the System Pergamum.
