As relações entre Estados têm-se tornado cada vez mais dúbias, a retórica do uso da força como extensão da política internacional, tem sido a narrativa mais comummente usada. Vivenciamos tempos incertos, em que o mundo se encontra envolto em conflitos regionais, perseguições religiosas, ideológicas e políticas, pelo que torna imprescindível refletir as dinâmicas migratórias e os processos de acolhimento inerentes a estas. Nesta sequência, investigar a temática alusiva às populações refugiadas coloca-nos na senda da procura de melhoria de respostas nos territórios de acolhimento destas populações. Pelo que, desenvolver um Estudo de Caso sobre o papel do Município de Sintra no acolhimento e integração de cidadãos ucranianos na condição de refugiados, tornase fundamental para analisar de que forma as medidas promovidas pela União Europeia para apoiar estes cidadãos, se refletiram nos mecanismos desenhados pelo Município de Sintra para acolher e integrar esses mesmos refugiados. The current international landscape has undergone abrupt geostrategic and geopolitical changes. Relations between states have become increasingly dubious, and the rhetoric of the use of force as an extension of international politics has been the most commonly used narrative. We are living in uncertain times, in which the world is embroiled in regional conflicts, religious, ideological and political persecution, which makes it essential to reflect on the dynamics of migration and the reception processes inherent in them. In this context, investigating the issue of refugee populations puts us on the path to improving responses in the territories that receive these populations.
