Lisboa : [s.n.], 2009. 284 p. http://hdl.handle.net/10400.2/1416 Dissertação de Mestrado em Estudos Euro-Asiáticos apresentada à Universidade Aberta O tema que propomos analisar “A TURQUIA NA UE – REFLEXOS E SIGNIFICADO DA ADESÃO” pretende descrever as raízes e demonstrar as vantagens estratégicas que representa para a Europa acolher no seu seio a Turquia, partindo da sua realidade geopolítica, um verdadeiro projecto de futuro na defesa dos ideais europeus, uma Europa forte e unida em paz, para vencer definitivamente os traumas do passado, e não voltar a escrever páginas negras, como as do passado recente como foi a II Guerra Mundial e a divisão que se lhe seguiu. Como ponto de partida será apontada a importância histórico-cultural da Turquia a sua posição geoestratégica no mundo Euro-Asiático, abordando-se de seguida as posições dos vários estados membros, finalmente será dado ênfase às muitas vantagens para a Europa em receber na sua família um país potencial mediador da paz e democracia no mundo, na gestão da globalização, na luta contra todas as formas de violência, terror ou fanatismo. Um país que espera das instituições da União Europia que sejam menos pesadas e rígidas, mais eficientes e transparentes e não ofereça vantagens apenas aos países ricos, mas também aos países mais pobres, num continente onde a liberdade, a solidariedade, e acima de tudo, da multiplicidade, de línguas, culturas e tradições sejam cada vez mais respeitadas. The subject that we consider to analyze “TURKEY IN THE EU - REFLECTED AND MEANING OF THE ADHESION” it intends to describe the roots and to demonstrate the strategical advantages that Europe represents to receive it in its seio Turkey, leaving of its geopolitical reality, true projecto of future in the defense of the European ideals, a strong and joined Europe in peace, definitively to win the traumas of the past, and not to come back to write black pages, as of the recent past as it was the World War II and the division that if followed to it. As starting point its geoestratégica position in the world Euro-Asian , approaching itself of followed the positions of the some states will be pointed the description-cultural importance of Turkey members, finally will be given emphasis to the many advantages for the Europe in receiving in its family a mediating potential country from the peace and democracy in the world, in the management of the globalization, the fight against all the forms of violence, terror or fanatism.
