[S.l.]: [s.n.], 2022. 253 p. http://hdl.handle.net/10400.2/12038 urn:tid:203054296 203054296 Esta dissertação tem como propósito dar a conhecer parte do património artístico da Ilha de Moçambique, cuja urgência em o salvaguardar, levou à constituição de importantes núcleos de arte indo-portuguesa, nomeadamente os Museus de Arte Sacra e o de Artes Decorativas, criados pela Comissão de Monumentos e Relíquias Históricas de Moçambique durante o Estado Novo, no virar de 1969 para 1970, altura em que a Ilha se tornava uma atração turística. Nela contextualiza-se a marcada presença indiana na arte aplicada à arquitetura, na arte sacra e no mobiliário existentes na Ilha de Moçambique, onde se preservam peças de elevado valor artístico e histórico, do séc. XVI à primeira metade do séc. XX, resultado da fusão da cultura portuguesa com culturas orientais do Índico. Neste estudo é dado particular enfoque ao património móvel, que constitui as coleções do MUSIM (Museus da Ilha de Moçambique), a instituição estatal tutelada pela cultura na qual se inserem os museus onde se localizam a maior parte das peças nele referidas e apresentadas. A presente investigação engloba igualmente peças de outras coleções estatais e particulares da Ilha de Moçambique e também de Maputo, como uma amostra do que se preservou desta arte em território moçambicano. Este trabalho desvenda, em paralelo, a história e a cultura desta cidade, que é Património da Humanidade e ao revelar-se o caminho percorrido para a salvaguarda do seu legado, registamse as principais ações decorridas nos períodos colonial e no pós-colonial para a sua divulgação e valorização, visando a preservação de memórias coletivas. This dissertation aims to make known part of the heritage of the Mozambique Island, in which the urge to safeguard led to the creation of important centers of Indo-Portuguese art, in particular, the Sacred Art Museum and the Decorative Arts Museum, created by the Commission of Monuments and Historical Relics of Mozambique, during the New State, at the end of 1969, specifically when the Island became an attraction. It contextualizes the marked Indian presence in art applied to architecture, sacred art and furniture on the Mozambique Island, where pieces of high artistic and historical value are preserved, from the sixteen centuries to the first half of the twenty century, result of the fusion of Portuguese culture with oriental cultures from the Indian ocean. In this heritage study, particular focus is given to the movable heritage that constitutes the MUSIM (Museums of the Mozambique Island), a state institution tutored by Culture, which includes the museums where most of the pieces mentioned and presented are located. The present investigation also includes pieces from other state institutions and particularly, from the Mozambique Island and from Maputo, as a sample of what has been preserved of this art in Mozambican territory.
